Merry Christmas!

This is my first attempt at blogging, I will use that as my excuse if this goes terribly wrong.

It is Christmas morning and Gary and I are sitting in front of the tree drinking coffee and listening to Christmas music. We are waiting for our college student son to wake up so we can watch him open his Christmas gifts, but we have not figured out yet how these college students can sleep so much when they are home. I guess he sleeps so late in the day because he is up so late each night. We are still searching for a gift we bought but can not remember where we put it.

With most of the gifts purchased or made and wrapped, I am going to spend the day just enjoying the season. But I am sure before the end of the day I will make it back to my sewing area to at least plan my next project if not start it. The next project is going to be a baby quilt for our new granddaughters arrival in March.
I wanted to share a few of the projects I made as gifts.
This is the messenger bag I made for my son's girlfriend--

To create this bag I used the tutorial from here.
The mongram letters are from SewCrazies forum.

I made several candle wraps as gifts also:

this is a great way to dress up a purchased candle and makes it more distinctive. The embroidery design used here is from EmbLibrary

There were several more projects but since I tend to wait until the last minute to finish things they have been all ready given and pictures not taken.
