the new grandbaby has not arrived yet so I have had time to finish up some things for her. I am a member of a private internet forum where several members including my daughter share craft ideas. When I learned that my daughter was going to have a baby I secretly asked the members to send me a quilt block made from their favorite craft medium (some are quilters, oters are embroiders and some are wonderful painters). About 5 members took part and sent me blocks. The blocks came in all different colors and sizes, and even received some fat quarters of fabric. With the blocks I made these gifts for my daughter and her new baby on behalf of the 5 forum members and myself.

Some of the quilt blocks had to be made larger, so I added small frame borders to them and some blocks were able to be trimmed to a size which fit. I added a tone on tone pink fabric as a sashing and then dug through my stash to find a fabric which would be a blender to bring all the fabric colors together.

I had some blocks which I just could not figure out how to incorporate into the quilt because of the color. So for these blocks I added another similar sized block with a letter of the baby's name and made soft baby blocks:

And finally with some of the extra fabric and blocks I received I made these two burp cloths:

Our new granddaughter is due the first week of March and her mom likes things not to look too cutesy. So grandma's sewing fingers and machine got busy and the here is the result:

I also made a few small blankets for the new baby. These blankets are made from fleece and the edges are serged using wooly nylon on both the upper and lower loopers.
